I have, for the last 20 years of my life, been on and off diets. Even when not following any program whatsoever and eating all kinds of crazy things, the idea of dieting has camped out in corner of my mind. And now… I’m done. For some reason, I was clinging to Weight Watchers but [...]

Breakfast – 7 pts Salad of fresh kiwi, strawberries and pineapple – 2 pts Fresh mozzarella – 5 pts Lunch – 11.5 points I’m kind of intrigued by these little individual size cups of cottage cheese from Rachel’s. They’re a break from a cup of yogurt and they have really interesting sounding flavors. I tried [...]

Evidently I seriously damaged my WW Karma with my Hungry Girl post over the weekend. Or maybe it was the fact that I went COMPLETELY off program the last week and a half?

I went to a Monday morning Weight Watchers meeting for my first weekly weigh-in. I’m pleased to announce that I lost 8.2 lbs! Woohoo! So 8.2 lbs down… and a lot to go. But I guess a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Lots of work to do this afternoon and [...]

If you only knew how many ‘tastes like chicken’ jokes my Dad knows. That in itself has become something of a family joke. Tonight is the night before my first weigh-in and I’m trying to keep it healthy. I wanted pizza and coffee ice cream. Instead I had a Quorn ‘Chick’n Cutlet with Gruyere’. For those of you following Weight Watchers, a Gruyere Chick’n Cutlet is 6 points.

Right now, I need to be accountable to a semi-anonymous someone outside of my daily life. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve dropped out of the program. I think that, fundamentally, it is a good program but it just wasn’t addressing why I was overeating in the first place. Now that I’ve dealt with some of those issues, I’m moving forward again. Good thing, too. The number on the scale was just… surreal. And scary. And heartbreaking.
